Organization

The Swedish Society of Medicine (SMM) organizes over 34 000 members divided into 56 member associations and 11 sections.

The highest decision-making body of the Society is the Governing Assembly, which consists of representatives of member organizations, sections and local medical societies.

The Society’s activities are overseen by a Board consisting of seventeen members appointed by the Assembly. The Board is headed by a Chairman, assisted by a Deputy Chairman, and Secretary.

The administrative side of the Society's acitivities is run by a secretariat.

The Society has 56 member organizations with approximately 34 000 members. In addition, SSM has individual members who are directly connected to SSM. SMM also comprises 11 sections, 9 local medical societies and 17 associated groups.
